JemmaCo - Jemma Cooper - Timeline

Here’s the Timeline of Key Events in Jemma’s life:

14th September 1988

My date of birth, keen to get into the world. Growing up always been seem to observe and be a deep thinker.

21st July 2010

Graduation. I graduated from UWIC University of Wales Institute Cardiff with a 2:1 in BSc (Hons) Complementary Therapies. This is where I found my passion. I just knew that helping people in a holistic way is what I wanted to do. I have always wanted to help people but I am also very driven, so combining therapies with a business is perfect combination for me.

July 2010

Became self-employed. I became self-employed even before finishing university. I rented a room in the salon, which I then bought. I started from scratch, seeing two clients a week, having paper price lists, and working long hours at the weekend doing care work to cover the bills. I used to lie in bed at night and continuously say to myself I need my own salon.

March 2011

Travel break. After being offered to buy the salon I was renting a room in, I then thought I want to give this my all but I would love to see the world first. I booked a 3-month travel trip to Asia, Australia, Bali and China. It was great and I came back with more passion to start fresh.

23rd October 2011

HI Therapies was born. I remember on my first day taking £6.50, and I just thought what have I let myself in for… The business has grown from strength to strength. HI Therapies is a beautiful place, we offer a client-focused approach to well-being. National Venus Ambassador

The empowerment and development of women are close to our hearts and generating great excitement. The Venus Awards were set up to recognize and reward the efforts and achievements of women in business. The awards have been very well received, generating thousands of nominations each year. As Venus National Ambassador, my role is to share the Venus word across the country and be a positive role model for women everywhere – by giving talks in schools, universities and within the business community.

November 2015

JemmaCo was born. I wanted to create a company using my passion for massage and my skills of product making. JemmaCo is changing and improving massage techniques for beauty therapists. Creating easy-to-learn specific techniques and procedures for personalized and power-healing treatments, to enhance client’s well-being on all levels – mind, body and soul.

In the salon we struggled to be different and find our USP, but with JemmaCo Beauty Care we can now offer a truly personalized touch to our treatments by using our own signature handmade and homemade energizing products.
